Group History

Blocktronics (aka. B7, 67, Block7, btronix) is an ansi art group founded in 2008 by Avenging Angel (avg) and enzO, both longtime ansi scene artists. The idea was to create a refuge to aggregate remaining ansi artists from the “extinct” textmode scene. The group grew faster than expected, mainly because of the interest of “retired” artists that decided to join it and now has 37 members from several countries.

Pack Releases

Differently of past scene groups, Blocktronics doesn’t release artpacks in a pre-defined periodicity. The main objective of the group is to gather art from it’s members until a pack is formed and release it when it’s time. We believe this way we can keep the ansi artform alive in parallel with everyone’s busy lives.

Ansi Editors

Nowadays most of our artists use Pablodraw as main ansi editor, but there are alternatives like TundraDraw and Drastic. We are also working on our own online ansi editor called Drawtronics, that will be available through this site and 16Colors, the largest online ansi archive.

You can learn more about our ansi related projects on the B7 Labs page.

How to Join Us

Aspiring or experienced artists are always welcome in the group. If you think you’ve what it takes to become a B7 artist, request a membership through our Google Groups. Make sure to ID yourself (previous nickname if ex-artist) and provide links to your ansi portfolio.

If you are interested to request art, please use the ansi request form located on the Request Art page.
